Seafood Gumbo with Shrimp and Crab



A delicious and flavorful seafood gumbo with a mix of shrimp and crab, cooked to perfection in a pressure cooker. This quick and easy recipe is perfect for a hearty and satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb crab meat, cooked
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 3 celery stalks, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can 14 oz diced tomatoes
  • 1 lb okra, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • Cooked rice for serving

Instructions:

Put the vegetable oil in the pressure cooker and heat it over medium heat

When you add the flour, keep stirring it in to make a roux

Cook it until it turns a dark brown color

Chop up the bell pepper, celery, onion, and garlic and add them to the roux

Cook the vegetables until they get soft

Add the okra, thyme, oregano, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper, and mix them in

Add crab meat and shrimp to the mix

Add the chicken broth and mix it in well

For fifteen minutes, cook on high pressure with the lid on top

Take the pressure off and carefully open the lid

If you need to, change the seasonings and then add the chopped green onions

Pour the seafood gumbo over rice that has been cooked

If you want, you can add more green onions as a garnish
